If you happen to want to loan out the de Lint, Kushner, and the Bear/Monette ones, I can't say I'd mind. :-)

I am, as always, so insanely jealous. I'd meant to try to make it to ALA this year, but time didn't allow it.

I'd be happy to! I can send you deLint and Kushner next week (I've already read deLint and Kushner is very short), or I can make Monette/Bear next on my list and send them all to you once I've finished reading it. I still have to return your Stephen Fry book anyway.

In shifts. Generally I'd go into the exhibit hall, load up a bag in each hand, and then either go box it up and ship it at the Fedex place in the convention center or drop it off where I was staying to take to the post office later. Then I'd go back for more :)

Indeed you are! Librarians rule! Come to the dark side! We bribe you with free books :)

I usually get 1-5 free books per TESOL convention, but they're usually textbooks. Sniffle.

Are you trying to make me green with envy?

Yes. :)

You should have come! BTW, where in Pennsylvania are you now? Anywhere near Philedelphia? That's where the Midwinter conference is next January.

Are computer consultants allowed to masquerade as librarians? Actually, given that I own as many books as some small libraries, I guess I must be a librarian too, right?

I'm in Reading, which is about 60 miles west of Philly. Are you going to the conference in January?

I am indeed. And they don't care if you're a librarian or not -- just pay your exhibit pass fee ($25) and you can have all the free books you want. Not as many free books at Midwinter though. There are some, but it's mostly committee meetings and stuff. Anyway, I won't have a car, and I don't know if you can get down to Philly easily, but if you can, we should try to meet up.

I'm not fond of driving into Philly, but it is easy enough to do as long as it isn't rush hour and getting to meet you would be a good incentive to do it. Let's remember to talk about it when the time comes near. As long as the weather cooperates we should be able to work out something.
