Dramatis personae:
Me: I'm an academic librarian in Louisiana. My family is in Maryland -- parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and a 19-year-old brother. So mostly, I'm by myself down here. Except for the cats. I have seven six cats. You will hear me talk about them probably more than any human in my life. For reference:
Robin, born 10/2003-- one of my two males. The first cat I got. Named after Robin Goodfellow in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Solid blue (grey).
Siobhán, born 8/2004-- My Halloween kitty. Pure black. I found her on the Walmart parkinglot Halloween night.
RIP Róisín, born 10/2003 -- Robin's littermate. Also pure blue (grey). In fact, the only way you can tell them apart is that he's bigger than she is. And she's extremely shy, where he's a little more sociable. (Died 9/17/07)
Ciara, born 10/2006 -- A medium-haired black and orange tortie. She's one of my biggest cats. Problem is, she doesn't know how big she is and still acts like a little kitten. Endless energy.
Fionnuala, born 2004 -- A lilac tortie. Very dignified. Loves to be petted. Takes all attention as her right and due. Fionnuala and Ciara are the only ones I actually adopted, as opposed to having them simply show up in my life.
Fiona, born 3/2007 -- A grey and black/orange tortie classic tabby. Very unusual patterning.
Finnegan, born 3/2007 -- Fiona's brother. Solid black. Finnegan was the runt of the litter. I wasn't planning on keeping him -- he was going to go home with someone else like his other two brothers -- but then he turned his *big* eyes on me and that was that. He's somewhat shyer than Fiona, which probably comes from all his siblings picking on him when he was younger, but now he's coming out of his shell somewhat.
And that's pretty much what you need to know about me and my household :)
Rain and sun shall feed me now,
